"Safety is a value at Enogex, to make sure everyone returns home uninjured at the end of the day to their family," said Mitchell, who wears a neon-orange rubber bracelet that reminds Enogex employees no matter whether in the field or in the office to "Live Safely."

The 700-plus Enogex employees took that value to heart in 2011, posting such a great performance in safety that the Gas Processors Association (GPA) took notice--twice.

Enogex will collect two awards at the GPA Annual Meeting the week of April 16 in New Orleans--The Company Safety Award for the best overall safety performance among the largest natural gas midstream companies and the President's Award for Safety Improvement.

The Company Safety Award is for the lowest injury and illness rate in 2011. Enogex was first place among all GPA companies with more than 500,000 work hours in 2011. Enogex reported no injuries and one recorded illness last year.

The President's Award for Safety Improvement is intended to recognize those companies that demonstrate continuous improvement by reducing the number of recordable incidents.

"We are focused on providing an incident and injury free workplace," Mitchell said. "These awards should be celebrated by our employees to honor their achievements along this journey."

Previously, Enogex was recognized with GPA Company Safety Awards for its performance in 2007 and 2006.
