How event-wristband pricing works.

Wristband unit cost moves on six factors. Knowing which one is doing the work helps you brief us efficiently and budget tighter.

Volume	Per-band cost falls hard between 500 and 5,000 units. Above 5,000 it flattens.
Print colours	One-colour cheapest. Each added colour adds set-up + per-band cost. Full-bleed multi-colour is the upper end.
Customisation	Stock colours and standard prints ship fast. Custom Pantone, debossing, woven inserts, RFID encoding all add to the unit and the lead time.
Lead time	Standard 7–14 business days. Rush production lifts the unit cost. Plain stock Tyvek can ship inside the week with no rush premium.
Tier complexity	One band, one colour, one print = lowest. Multiple access tiers in different colours = small additional set-up per tier, often worth it for gate-flow gains.

Event wristband mistakes to avoid.

Five briefs we see go wrong, and the fix for each.

Tyvek for a multi-day event. Tyvek wears through three days of sleep, swim and weather. Vinyl or woven fabric for anything past 24 hours.
Under-ordering on overage. Running out of GA at door night is the fastest way to lose your gate flow. Add 15% buffer to festival GA, 10% to VIP and Crew, 5% to fixed-count tiers.
Sending raster logos for vector-ready production. A low-resolution PNG triples your proof rounds. Vector files (.ai, .eps, .svg) plus exact Pantone codes cuts the proof loop in half.
Booking RFID two weeks out. Chip programming and electronics QA need lead time. Book RFID and LED at least four weeks ahead of event date.
One colour across every access tier. Defeats the entire point of colour-coded access control. Same band, three or four colours per tier — gate staff read tiers at a glance, no extra credentials.

What types of wristbands are best for events?

Depends on the event length and what the band needs to do. Tyvek suits single-day events with tamper-proof security and the lowest unit cost. Vinyl is the next step up for multi-day events. Woven fabric is the premium option for festivals with a take-home keepsake. Silicone is the choice for brand activations, charity walks and team identification — and customers tend to keep them long after the event. RFID and LED solve cashless-payment, multi-zone access, and stadium-activation problems — book early for those.

Can I colour-code wristbands for different access levels?

Yes. Colour-coding by tier is the fastest, lowest-tech access-control system at the gate. GA / VIP / Artist / Crew / U18 / Bar — whatever your operation needs. Same band, different colour ink. No extra credentials, no scanning required.

How far in advance should I order event wristbands?

Custom orders typically dispatch within 7–14 business days. Plain or single-colour Tyvek can ship inside the same week. Silicone, woven fabric, RFID and LED need longer because of mould, weave, chip-programming and electronics steps. Larger orders — high-volume runs, or events with multi-tier custom artwork — need timeline confirmation upfront; send the brief and we'll come back with a firm dispatch date. Call 1300 368 980 if your deadline is tight — rush production may be possible.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Minimums vary by material and print spec. Silicone custom runs start from as few as seven units on some SKUs. Tyvek and printed runs have higher MOQs because of print set-up. Contact us with your event count and we'll come back with the minimum and unit price for your exact brief.

What artwork files do you need to start?

Send vector logos where possible (.ai, .eps, .svg). Include exact Pantone or hex codes for brand colours that must match. Supply final copy approved for print — event name, date, sponsor marks, access-tier labels. Sequential ID range if needed. Clean files upfront cuts proof rounds in half.

Can I order eco-friendly or recycled wristbands?

Yes. Recycled-content Tyvek, RPET woven bands (made from recycled drink bottles), and bamboo or cotton woven all reduce single-event landfill. Fabric and silicone bands that customers keep as keepsakes are the strongest fit for events with a sustainability commitment — the band goes home with the attendee rather than getting binned at the gate.
