What the non-locking slider changes

The slider moves both ways. That single difference decides which events this band suits, and which it does not.

It can be taken off and worn again

Guests loosen the band, remove it and put it back on. For a conference, a staff day, a school event or a brand activation that is exactly what you want — nothing has to be cut off, and the band goes home intact.

Which means it cannot secure paid entry

A removable band can be handed to somebody else. If the wristband is the ticket, this is the wrong product — use the barrel-lock woven band, which is tamper-evident and must be cut to remove. Choosing on price here costs you admissions.

It gets kept, which is the marketing case

Because it survives the event, a woven band keeps working afterwards. Conference bands turn up on wrists for weeks and festival bands get tied to bag straps. If your goal is brand exposure rather than access control, the reusable slider is the point rather than a compromise.

Woven, not printed — what that means for artwork

The design is thread

Your artwork is woven into the fabric rather than printed on top, which gives a textile finish that cannot rub off. The limit is resolution: thread cannot reproduce photographs, gradients or very fine detail the way ink can.

Choose printed if your design needs it

A single logo and a few words weave beautifully. A photographic or multi-colour design needs the printed non-locking band instead, which takes full-colour artwork edge to edge with the same reusable fit.

Keep it to the middle third

Only part of the band faces outward on a wrist, and the ends disappear around the fastener. Centre the logo and the one word that matters most; treat the rest as decorative.

Sizing when the band is adjustable

A sliding fastener means one length fits most adults, which removes the sizing problem that catches people out with fixed bands. It also means the wearer sets the tension themselves, so brief your gate staff to hand the band over rather than fit it — people adjust it more comfortably than a stranger will.

Ordering spares is cheaper here

Unlike tamper-evident bands, leftover stock is not wasted. A band that is not issued at this event can be issued at the next one, and a mis-fit costs nothing because it can simply be loosened. Order comfortably over your expected numbers rather than exactly to headcount.

Colour choices in woven fabric

Woven bands take colour differently to printed ones. The band colour and the thread colour are both chosen from a weaving palette rather than matched to a print reference, so a brand colour will be matched as closely as the yarn range allows rather than exactly. Send your colour reference with the artwork and we will tell you at proofing stage which yarn is the nearest match, before anything is woven. For designs where exact colour matching matters more than the textile finish, a printed band reproduces brand colours more faithfully.

Security features worth specifying

Even without a lock, these bands support numbering, barcoding, serialisation and UV weaves. They do not make the band tamper-evident, but they do make it traceable — useful for reconciling bands issued against attendees expected, or for voiding a specific number. All of it must be specified before production, not added later.

For a wide stretchy slip-on with no fastener at all, see elastic fabric wristbands; for recycled content, the RPET band. Browse the full fabric wristband range, or get a quote for your event.

Wearing one for several days

These stay on across a multi-day event, which is a different proposition to a few hours. Woven polyester holds moisture, so over a hot weekend of sunscreen and sweat the band sits damp against the same patch of skin. Rinsing it with the wrist under a tap and letting it dry takes a minute and prevents most discomfort. A small number of people react to prolonged damp contact with any material; if persistent redness or itching appears, take the band off — easy with this slider — and if it does not settle, seek advice. Healthdirect Australia covers contact dermatitis and when it warrants attention.

Non-locking woven wristband FAQs

Can the band really be reused?

Yes. The slider loosens and re-tightens, so the band comes off intact and can be worn again or re-issued at another event. That is the main reason to choose it over a barrel-lock band.

Is it suitable for ticketed entry?

No. Because it can be removed and passed to someone else, it cannot prove paid entry. Use the barrel-lock version where the band is the ticket.

How much artwork fits?

A logo and a short line of text. The design is woven as thread, so fine detail, gradients and photographs are beyond what the process resolves — choose a printed band for those.

Can these be numbered?

Yes. Numbering, barcoding, serialisation and UV weaves are available. They make the band traceable rather than tamper-evident, and must be specified before production.

Will the woven design wear off?

No. It is thread rather than ink, so there is no printed layer to rub away. The band survives rain, sweat and washing with the design intact.

What is the lead time?

Quantity-dependent, typically 10 to 14 business days, with larger runs longer and expedited turnaround available on application. Artwork is proofed for your approval before production.
