MAY I make your readers aware of our organisation's new product which we are selling in aid of the Injured Soldiers Holiday Appeal?

Although we have only been running for six months, things have moved at quite a pace and the organisation is growing by the day. This has only been achieved with the support of the people of Fazeley and now we would like to spread the word throughout the Tamworth area. We have now had our own wristbands produced which Tamworth people can purchase and show support. The wristbands can be purchased from our online shop which they can find on our website www.injured soldiersappeal.co.uk or if they wish they can just make a donation via the donation page.

We are soon to be manning a stand at the Tom Sephton Memorial Rugby Match in Warrington Cheshire (this event has free entry and is well worth a visit) where all our products will be on sale. Our full range will also be available on our website shop very shortly.

Many people may think that a holiday is the last thing to worry about when a soldier has been injured, but our experience has proved that this service helps in many ways with the recovery process.

Families taking advantage of our service have reported that it as helped so much with the reconnection of the family unit especially where young children are involved. We also help and offer holidays to those who have been bereaved when a loved one has been tragically lost in active service.

Not forgetting, and probably one of the most important areas, the mental health of those suffering from PTSD. This is an illness often overlooked and we believe needs more support. With that in mind we intend to offer holiday breaks to the charity Combat Stress.

We offer help to all areas of the armed forces, Navy, Air Force and of course the Army. We also offer our service to ex as well as serving forces personnel. Although individuals can approach us directly, we would advise they first approach the recognised charity that deals with their particular problem asking them to approach us on their behalf.

We have just received a wonderful letter of support from Mr Christopher Pincher MP (Mr Pincher has been a constant support to us and has actively encouraged our efforts) who has also written to The Rt Hon Andrew Robathan MP, parliamentary under-secretary of state for defence with a request for a meeting to discuss our endeavours.

May I mention Mr Pincher has never looked for publicity regarding his support for us but has done it quietly in the background because of his belief that our cause is worthy of his support. So Mr Pincher MP I hope I haven't upset you by making it public knowledge but myself and my husband Paul believe your support should be acknowledged.

We have a charity auction coming up on Thursday July 19 (donations of items to sell would be most welcome) which will be well worth a visit, so if you would prefer you can come along and purchase your wristband directly from us at Fazeley Victory Club on the day of the auction.

So in conclusion 'come on people of Tamworth', help us achieve our goal of helping as many brave heroes as possible.

Wristbands can also be collected from Fazeley Victory Club or by phoning Tamworth 283027 to arrange collection
