silicone wristbandsI’m sure everyone is aware of how many studies signal Omega-3 as a vital part of the daily vitamin regime – and the studies keep on coming! A recent review of many studies into Omega-3 has also found that the supplement may reduce breast cancer risk. The report, in a recent edition of the British Medical Journal, concludes that each 0.1-gram increase in omega-3 per day was linked to a 5 % lower risk of having breast cancer.

Talk to a parent and all have an anecdote about food colouring and hyperactivity. But is there actually a direct link? Joel Nigg, PhD, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience at Oregon Health & Science University and author of What Causes ADHD? suggests there is, albeit small. He looked at 34 studies and concluded that about 8% of children were susceptible, and about 30% of children responded well to a dye-free diet. The upshot is… avoid them if possible, they do no good anyway.

Do you need to raise awareness for your cause? Use Handbands as a simple, long-lasting way of ‘shouting’ your message. Vibrant colours and space for a logo and short message on a wristband that people might wear for weeks or months is a great way for the wearer and those around them to ‘get’ your message.

There are hundreds of uses for our range of hand bands. Some organisations like Blacktown Library use them as a way of promoting reading, the library and its services. It’s simple and relatively cheap so budgets can be adhered to and the message broadcast to allcomers.

There are plenty of uses you can put handbands to and our website has lots of suggestions that will help your club, school or organisation. Contact us at Handbands and we'll show you what other people do and maybe that will spark ideas for you too.
