Paper Wristbands — Blank & Printable Tyvek Bands

Paper wristbands — also called Tyvek wristbands — are the lightweight, low-cost bands you see at festivals, events and venues across Australia. Made from Tyvek, a tough synthetic paper, paper wristbands are waterproof, tear-resistant and tamper-evident: once one is fastened it cannot be removed and re-used, so they are ideal for access control and crowd management.

Print Your Own Paper Wristbands

This product is a pack of blank laser sheets, so you can print your own custom paper wristbands in-house. Run them through any standard laser printer to add names, numbers, logos, sponsor artwork or sequential access codes — then peel and wear.

  • 10 wristbands per sheet (254mm × 200mm sheet)
  • Each band 254mm × 20mm
  • Minimum order 5 sheets (50 wristbands); priced per band
  • Works with all major laser printers — test one sheet first

Why Choose Paper (Tyvek) Wristbands?

  • Waterproof & tear-proof — they last all event, rain or shine
  • Tamper-evident — non-transferable once fastened, so no pass-backs
  • Fast & affordable — the cheapest way to band a big crowd
  • Access at a glance — print colours or codes for different zones

Where Paper Wristbands Are Used

Music festivals, school events and fun runs, nightclubs and bars, conferences, fundraisers, pools and water parks — anywhere that needs quick, secure, single-use entry control. Because each paper wristband is cheap and disposable, they suit one-off and high-volume events where re-usable silicone or fabric bands are not practical.

How to Print Your Paper Wristbands

Load a sheet into any standard laser printer (not inkjet) and print your design straight onto the bands — text, a logo, sequential numbers or a block of colour for each access zone. We recommend printing one test sheet to check alignment before running the full batch. Once printed, separate the bands along the perforations, wrap one around each wrist and press the adhesive tab firmly; the bond is permanent and tamper-evident, so the band has to be cut off to remove it.

Print your own, or have us print them?

Blank laser-printable bands exist for one reason: control over timing. If your details change late or you need bands this afternoon, printing in-house beats any lead time. If you need volume or full-colour artwork, it does not.

Getting a clean print at the office

Laser only — and check your printer first

These bands are a laser-printable grade. Tyvek is a DuPont polyethylene material, not paper, so it behaves differently going through a fuser. Check your printer’s media guidance before a big run, and always put one sheet through first rather than a full tray.

Feed one sheet at a time for short runs

Synthetic stock is smoother than paper and can double-feed from a loaded tray. For anything under about fifty bands, hand-feeding via the bypass tray is faster overall than clearing a jam halfway through.

Let toner cool before handling

Toner sits on the surface rather than soaking in. Give sheets a minute out of the printer before stacking or cutting, or the freshly printed side can mark against the sheet above it.

Design for the strip, not the sheet

At 20mm wide there is room for a name, a date or a number — not a paragraph. Set generous margins so nothing sits near the adhesive tab, and test one band on a wrist before committing: text that reads fine flat can disappear around the curve.

What people use blank bands for

Details that are not known until the day

Session times, room allocations, team names, final headcounts. Anything you cannot send to print two weeks out is the natural case for a blank band.

Handwritten bands

They take permanent marker perfectly well. School excursions and community events often write a group number or a contact phone number on the day, which needs no printer at all. Use a fine permanent marker rather than a ballpoint — ballpoint ink skates across the synthetic surface and stays smudgeable, while permanent marker bonds and survives sweat and rain. Write before fitting the band, not after: writing against someone’s wrist gives you a wobbly line and risks pressing the closure shut early.

Keeping spare stock on the shelf

Venues that run frequent small events keep a box of blanks so any event can be wristbanded at short notice, and order printed bands only for the big ones.

Storing blanks between events

Keep unopened packs flat, sealed and out of direct sun. Heat is the enemy of the adhesive tab — a box left in a hot car or a sunny storeroom will still print fine but may not seal reliably at the gate, which you only discover with a queue in front of you. Stored indoors at room temperature they keep for years, which is what makes buying a spare box worthwhile.

Blank Tyvek wristband FAQs

Can I use an inkjet printer?

These are supplied as a laser-printable grade. Inkjet ink sits wet on a non-absorbent synthetic surface and tends to smudge rather than dry. If inkjet is your only option, test a single band and check it is dry and rub-resistant before printing a run.

Will the print survive the event?

Laser toner is fused to the surface and handles sweat and rain well. It is not as abrasion-proof as commercial printing, so for multi-day events in wet conditions a professionally printed band is the safer choice.

Can I write on them by hand?

Yes. Permanent marker works well and is the quickest option for names, numbers or group allocations written at the gate.

Are blank bands still tamper-evident?

Yes. The adhesive closure is the same one-way design as printed Tyvek bands — the band must be cut to remove and cannot be transferred to another wrist.

What width are these bands?

These are the 20mm width, which suits general entry control and handwritten or laser-printed detail. Wider bands give more printable area if your artwork needs it.

How many come in a pack?

They are sold in event quantities with tiered pricing. Order enough for your expected headcount plus a small overage — a mis-fed sheet or a mis-fitted band cannot be reused.
