My approach to the business of helping people deal with depression, anxiety and a host of mental/emotional problems is highly unusual and challenging to the accepted view of psychotherapy. Where common approaches are built around the need to "talk" problems through, and influenced by Descartes', "I think, therefore I am," my approach is developed from the fact that human beings learn to "feel" before we learn to think and form language. I ordered a number of black handbands with a dark grey "I feel; therefore I am..." These, I give to all my clients. They have reported (as was my intention) that these are so stylish that they do not remove them when going off to a dressy event, church, or the office.
On many occasions, others have asked what the "I feel" shoutline means. And many clients have said that they are a constant subconscious reminder of the good work we have done.... "twiddle with them constantly."
Thanks for this opportunity to find a way to keep the flag flying. My next order will have my website on the inside of the band. Emotions in Balance23/04/2006 |
