Dear HandBand,
We are a non-profit research institute and rely on the generosity of members of the public to take part in our research studies. We are currently trialling a new vaccine to protect against meningococcal B disease. Meningococal B infection is the last major cause of meningitis for which we don't have a vaccine. Around 80% of cases of meningitis in Western Australia are caused by the B strain. We have had a range of different age groups involved in our vaccine studies. The kids in the adolescent age group (8-14 years) loved the wristbands we had made for them. Now the toddlers will be receiving wristbands too. Its just a small way that we can thank the kids for their involvement in our important studies. Their bands read - WE'RE HELPING SAVE KIDS FROM MENINGITIS.
