I spent part of my Saturday at Burger Center with thousands of Marathon Kids.  And I don’t know how it could be any better.

This is the 10th year I’ve been involved with Marathon Kids, and the first few were just as a Dad.  When Brandon was in kindergarten, we went to our first Marathon Kids and I don’t know if I’ve missed one since.  I made the (more…)

Celebrating Joy of her life

REDLANDS – There are recurring words in people’s memories of Melissa Joy Dietzel: amazing hugs, a smile and joy. The same was said many different ways Saturday afternoon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Pioneer in Redlands.  Marnie Reynolds sang, “Scatter sunshine all along your way. Cheer and bliss, and brighten every passing day.”

Dietzel’s sister, Amber Taylor, spoke of Dietzel’s love of the color lime green.

“In high school there were times it was all she wore, and she encouraged others to wear it, `because that is the best color in the world.”‘

Fremont shows support for shooting victim

The community is rallying behind the family of a 23-year-old Fremont woman who was the victim of a Feb. 16 shooting. A number of businesses and individuals have established fundraisers to help with the medical costs for Ashley Bunn, who remains hospitalized in Omaha. Leukaemia girl will be wedding belle at fair

THIS brave little girl and her family are looking forward to “starting their lives all over again” when she comes off her leukaemia treatment.

Five-year-old Amelia Wood will have her last medication on Monday – her parents’ wedding anniversary.
