Rubber Bracelets Support Research

Charles Logan Patrick will turn 1 year old on Oct. 11, but he still can’t roll over.  He can’t hold up his head. He doesn’t crawl, or even move his legs.

What Logan, as he is known to friends and family, can do is flash a smile, wave to a new face and give his mom a high five.

Bracelets in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

San Marcos — David Rowley wears a rubber hot pink bracelet that stays around his wrist seven days a week. He just waits for someone to ask him what it’s for, so he can give them the spill: It’s only for men “tough enough” to wear pink, and it’s worn to raise awareness about breast cancer.

NBA Banding Together

Magic guard Steve Francis doesn’t know who Ave Maria Green is but he sure wishes he had her business foresight.

In 1999, Green created what has turned into the latest NBA rage and one that gets a green light from the league’s fashion police: the silicone rubber “baller ID bands” that were put on the global map thanks to cyclist Lance Armstrong and his yellow cancer awareness LIVESTRONG bands produced by Nike.
