Wristbands to Remember Loved ones

This year’s fifth annual Wiffle ball tournament in the frontyard of Justin Scherbring’s home in Hayfield was a lot like the previous four, except for one thing. Scherbring’s mom, Mary, was not there to cheer them on.

Mary died in June from lymphoma after being diagnosed in February.

Autism Fundraising Effort Uses Silicone Wristbands

When Cindy Waeltermann got the diagnosis for her son, who was almost 3, “All I heard was ‘autism,’ and I think my ears started ringing. I heard nothing after that.”

Her younger son later received the diagnosis as well.

Missouri Hospitals Standardized Colored Wristbands

When you’re in the hospital, you may wear three or four wristbands to alert nurses to important conditions like allergies, but there can be confusion involving the color of those wristbands. Now hospitals are banding together to make you safer.

Dale Schwab’s recovering from open heart surgery and doing well enough to notice he’s wearing three wristbands.

Patient safety watchdog calls for standardised wristbands

· Confusions led to nearly 3,000 treatment errors
· NHS trusts given July 2008 date to fall into line

Nearly 3,000 hospital patients were given the wrong treatment last year because of inaccurate or confusing information on their identification wristband, according to the National Patient Safety Agency.

Concord welcomes One Bracelets – urges candidates to fight world poverty

If Bono has his way, white arm bracelets will be campaign trail couture in New Hampshire and other early primary states this year.

The bands signify support for One, a coalition of global health organizations working to reduce poverty, AIDS and malaria around the world.
