Wristbands Promote Alcohol Awareness & Sobriety

LANCASTER – Sheriff’s deputies will conduct extra patrols next week and check parties for underage drinking to combat high school graduation-time traffic fatalities.

Lancaster and Palmdale deputies will patrol the streets and keep an eye on parties to make sure they don’t get out of control after the graduations at local public high schools, which will begin May 31.

Teammates Remembered with Rubber Bracelets

A blue rubber bracelet with block orange lettering on Brandon Marshall’s right wrist has served as a reminder he not only will have to get his body right for the upcoming season, but also his mind.Williams 27. 1982-2007.It refers to the first of two Broncos players’ deaths this year.

Fundraising with Wristbands & Fireworks

MARQUETTE — When Marquette Mayor Tom Tourville talks about the Fourth of July these days, he’s no longer frowning.

Back in February Tourville, who is also the president of the Fourth of July Committee, announced that it was unlikely Marquette would have a July Fourth celebration due to a lack of donations and volunteers.

HS SOFTBALL: Ken West Bracelets for title run

KENMORE — It’s a constant reminder of the good they want to achieve and the bad they can’t forget.

This year, the Kenmore West Blue Devils softball team is finding additional motivation in blue and white team bracelets.

The brainchild of coach Matt Chimera, each bracelet features the word “Remember” followed by “WSW 8 KW 0,” the final score of last year’s Section VI Class AA title game between West Seneca West and Ken West.
