A Noble Cause Donates Computers for Children with Cancer

Children battling cancer at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay received a gift Thursday from A Noble Cause. The foundation started by former Green Bay Packers linebacker Brian Noble and his wife Cindy presented the hospital with five, wireless laptop computers.

OX5 wristbands for fundraisers

Hundreds of bands will be on the run at next month’s OX5 Run, through the grounds of Blenheim Palace. That’s because everyone entering the five-mile event to raise money for the Oxford Children’s Hospital will be sent a bright red wristband. One side of the band is emblazoned with the words “I’m running the OX5RUN 2007″ and the other says: “I ran the OX5RUN 2007″.

How do you spell a thousand?

Pupils at Norland Junior and Infant School know the meaning of charity – and have proved they can spell it as well. Although there are only 80 pupils at the village school, they raised £1,005 for the NSPCC.

Older pupils put their thinking caps on for a sponsored spell while the younger ones were involved in a fund-raising game.

Their hearts beat for good health

Industrious Public School 222 student Emma Henry showed her compassionate side when she coordinated a fundraiser for the American Heart Association (AHA) – just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The delightful fourth grader designed red bracelets, emblazoned with the phrase, “healthy hearts” and sold them to her classmates to raise money for AHA’s “Go Red for Women” sub-section.

WSU Student Honors Steve Irwin

A Winona State University sophomore has turned her admiration of recently deceased naturalist Steve Irwin into a labor of love. Sophomore Lindsey Derby sells commemorative wristbands to raise money for Irwin’s Australia Zoo.

“I want people to have an easy way to remember him,” Derby said.
